TEHRAN -- The United States is the only country that has committed a “nuclear holocaust”, Iranian ambassador to Mexico Mohammad-Hassan Qadiri-Abyaneh said on Thursday in Mexico.
Having nuclear weapons is used as a pretext by certain countries to hold veto right, whereas none of African, Latin American, and Islamic countries has this right, Qadiri-Abyaneh told reporters at a press conference.“Veto right represents the law of the jungle, and it is hindering the punishment of aggressive powers,” he added.
Referring to the U.S. military threats against Iran for its peaceful nuclear program, the envoy said the Islamic Republic is trying to stop a new war to take place in the region.
The situation in Iran is not like Iraq where the U.S. can launch an attack because the Iranian nation and government are united and will make Washington regret, he emphasized.
“The entire world knows that the objective behind U.S. occupation of Iraq and threatening Iran is to get the control over the region’s oil reserves,” he added.
Any war against Iran will critically influence the international economy, he said, adding that in that case oil prices could reach up to $400 and all countries will be harmed
